Verizon Wireless Opens Shoppes at Wendover Communications Store
Family Service of the Piedmont Receives $1,000

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Verizon Wireless, the nation’s largest wireless communications provider, today announced it will hold a celebration during the week of February 8-14 to mark the grand opening of its new 3,200-square-foot communications store at Shoppes At Wendover.

“The demand for wireless service and products is rapidly growing in Greensboro and our new location in Shoppes At Wendover will help us serve our customers more effectively,” said Brian Anderson, store manager. “We believe that the community will enjoy all of our grand opening activities and learn more about Verizon Wireless and its products and service offerings.”

As part of the celebration, a check for $1,000 will be presented on Friday, Feb. 13, at 12:30 p.m., to Family Service of the Piedmont, which builds safe and healthy families through counseling, victim services and community-based programs. Members of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce and other dignitaries will also gather and participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

For festivities, WKZL FM will also host a live radio remote on Friday, Feb. 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. and Customers visiting the store during the week can also register to win CATS tickets.

Verizon Wireless’ Shoppes At Wendover communications store will offer a broad selection of handsets and calling plans. New and existing customers can benefit from a host of value packed possibilities including a wide range of America’s Choice and Family SharePlan calling plan options, wireless data offerings such as TXT Messaging and Picture Messaging bundles, new handsets and accessories. Customers can also sign-up for In-Network, a new calling plan that allows Verizon Wireless’ 37.5 million customers to call each other anytime, anywhere on the nation's most reliable wireless network absolutely free without using minutes.

In addition to these offers, the store is featuring discounts on select accessories; buy one get one free for $29.99 on the Motorola 343; the new LG 4500 – a $129.99 value – for $89.99 after a $30 mail-in rebate; and the Audiovox CDM-8900 camera phone – a $169.99 value – for $129.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. All phone offers require a 2-year agreement.

A staff of trained professionals can assist individuals in selecting equipment, price plans, accessories, features and also demonstrating Verizon Wireless’ Get It NowSM service. Get It Now allows customers to download wireless content ranging from ring tones to trivia contests to games, such as X Games skateboarding and snowboarding, weather updates, real-time scores and news headlines.

The communications store is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.;
Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
