NEW PRESIDENT/CEO THOMAS BONNEY JOINS FAMILY SERVICE OF THE PIEDMONT

JAMESTOWN, NC—Thomas Bonney has begun his post as President/CEO. He succeeds Julia Nile, who retired last month.

Bonney, a licensed clinical social worker, brings with him 24 years of experience working in various human services agencies, including family service agencies and residential treatment facilities.

Before coming to Family Service of the Piedmont, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Family Service Association, a $7.7 million private, nonprofit agency operating twenty-four programs and services in seven counties of southern New Jersey. His former agency offers many similar programs to Family Service of the Piedmont, including mental health counseling and other family support services, such as family preservation.

"I am impressed with the dedication and passion of the agency’s staff and board as well as the incredible support from donors and community partners," Bonney said. "Together I’m confident the agency can continue its tradition of exceptional service while growing and evolving to meet the needs of children and families in our community.”

Bonney possesses a Bachelor of Social Work Degree from Eastern University in Saint Davids, PA; a Master of Social Work Degree in Administration from Temple University in Philadelphia, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Michigan School of Social Work in collaboration with The Alliance for Children and Families. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Bonney knows the importance of administering programs while understanding the clinical impact that these programs have on children and families.
