EPIC Parenting Education
EPIC is a 10-week parenting psycho-educational class that teaching basic parenting skills to parents with children of all ages.
Clients can self-refer, be referred by DSS, or be court-ordered. This group is not appropriate for highly abusive situations.
The EPIC philosophy of parenting education is based on the philosophy that there is a direct relationship between the confidence a parent feels and his or her performance as a parent.

Topics typically covered during the course of the group include:
Parenting styles and decision making
Children need families
Single parenting
Listening and responding to children
Communicating with teachers
Love as a powerful vitamin
Character, conscience, and values
Fostering self-esteem
Encouraging emotional growth
Coping with daily conflicts
Crises that affect families
Structure and limits
Rewards and punishments
Sexuality education begins in the home
Sibling rivalry
Guilt and stress of the working parent
Building bridges between parent and child: substance abuse prevention
Helping your child succeed in school
