Domestic Violence Intervention Program

Crossroads For Women & Children
What is it? Crossroads is a group of group programs for women & children who have experienced domestic violence. The programs are offered in both High Point and Greensboro and include:
• Women's Counseling Group, for women who have left abusive partners and are ready to work on trauma recovery
• Women's Psycho-ed Class, for women court and DSS ordered, still involved with their abusers or not yet ready for trauma recovery work. Fees are charged for court/DSS ordered women.
• Children's Groups, which are play therapy groups for children of women participating in the Women's programs. Children attend at no charge.

Topics for Women's Programs include:
• Safety planning
• Understanding abuse dynamics
• Re-establishing control over her life
• Open expression of feelings
• Self-esteem
• Changing old patterns & interpersonal boundaries
• Healing wounds of intimate violence
• Talking about healthy relationships
• Topics for Children's Program include:
• Expressing feelings
• Acknowledging abuse
• Understanding safety
• Self-esteem
• Interpersonal boundaries
